Just wondering if first gear is closest to you on one of those wrong sided driver cars? Somebody asked a question about that. He was wondering if the tranny would be backwards when he installed the Japan tranny in his American drivers sided car. That is, he was wondering if first gear would be in the 5th gear position, reverse in the second position, etc. Does anybody know how this works? I've never heard anybody mentioning their tranny shifting being backwards when they get a jdm motor/tranny.

Nope its excatley the same. Building a tranny backwards would be a waste of money. All the gears are in the same place. Instead of pulling towars you for first now you push away. But thats only if the car is RHD!

That must take some getting used to. Sitting on the wrong side and shifting with first gear away from you. What does the car having Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease(RHD) have anything to do with it? . What do you mean by RHD? By the way, nice car. Is it pretty quick? And i just realized, i could have answered my own question by looking at the pic. It's got the gear numbers on top of the shifter.

RHD means Right Hand Drive.

Looks good. If anyone notices the throttle cable runs along the front of the motor .

Was a trip driving my friends RHD ITR.
