Default ZC vs D16Z6 swap

I need a new engine for my 1991 CRX Si. B/C of limited budget I am looking at a ZC(DOHC non-VTEC 130hp) or a D16Z6(SOHC VTEC 125hp). I need some recommendations between these two engines. Can anyone give me some feedback.

you just want an engine swap or do you plan on turboing or building it up?

DOHC ZC will be the easiest - also better performance

In the future I would definitely like to build it up. I haven't thought that far ahead. I just need to get the car up and running right now. What are your thoughts on which on to build up or turbo?

Might be the easiest but better performing I dont know. The Z6 definately has at least twice the aftermarket support so its up to you.

i keep seeing this statement on various forums - what is the "twice the aftermarket support"? - anything available for the D16Z6 is also available for the ZC - as for performance, having done over 2 dozen DOHC ZC swaps, as well as many D16Z6s, Y8s, B16As, B18As, i can tell you for a fact that the ZC with the right set-up will outperform any of them

Thanx for all the input guys. I will go with the ZC. It is a easy bolt in swap which does not require a new ecu, axles, ect. Probably the cheapest for the budget as well. Thanks again.
