Uprgades worth buying?
I have been looking on eBay for good deals, and found mufflers for 50$ that increase your hp by 5-10, cool air intake that increases for 30$ hp by 10-15 and a turbonator for 70$ that gives me 7-35 hp, so thats 150$ plus shipping to boost my car by 22-60 hp, are these worth the money? Im new and need help. From what I hear i have 70 hp stock so I could get from 92-130 hp with these upgrades. They also all save me gas. I have a stock 89 civic hb.( you can laugh. I know you want to.)

Getting horsepower out of a small honda motor isn't that simple. When you modify your motor it's not like you're "adding" horses. The goal is to try to flow as much air through your motor as possible in the most efficient manner. It sounds like you have a single cam non-vtec motor if you only push 70hp stock. If you are serious about power, I would consider getting an engine swap. Save up about 3 grand and get a B-series motor (like a B16A, B18B or C). Once you've done that, than I would start thinking of ways to modify.
By the way, to see a difference of 35 hp in a honda motor would require something as drastic as a turbo or a complete build up from the crank to the intake manifold. When you do little things like exhaust upgrades and cold air intakes, you may see gains up to like 3-4 hp. Good luck.
