I wanted a 100 hp motor because the bigger, the less mpg you get, so I wanted to save money on gas, but my dad and I are goin to the junk yard and getting some loose stuff like an antenna for his truck, and a speedometer with a tach for my car, I think this will be my project car. It is kind of dinged up with hail damage, and the wind sheild is cracked and fixed with tar, so I want to go to a guy I know through some people, and try to fix it up with him. I will probabally get a job in his garage doing oil changes and work my way up from there. And of course try to have a large part in all the things going on in my car.

P.S. Most of the cars I see on here have cool air intake. Are there just higher quality than the ones on ebay? Because you told me they wouldnt do that much.

More HP = More Gas.

There is no possible way that you can put a larger output engine into that car and retain the same gas mileage. That is like trying to find a turbo that spools instantly and puts out 600 hp.

If you are worried about gas mileage, keep the puny little 1.5L in there.

I've got a B18B1 thats just sitting with a transmission on it right now. I got it for my 89 civic hatch thats also running a 1.5L 4 speed. I started buying parts to do the swap and realized that I dont wanna mess with my great driving car that can run across country on fumes. I bought a 92 civic hatch to put the B18 in and quickly realized it was gonna take more work to put the B18B in the 92 than it would for my 89. So in the end I've got a 92 civic hatch with a blown 1.6 vtech motor in it and a motor that i cannot use. If your THAT intrested in buying a B18, I'll sell it for $300 with transmission attached and some accessories that I have. I dont really wanna ship the thing so you'd have to come pick it up, but its a great motor for someone or anyone actually learning. I just need to get rid of it, its sitting and going to no good now.

While I got a couple people here, what would it take for me to put that motor hatchbackhell has sittin' there into my 90 Si. I already have a b16 in it. I suppose I could just use the b18 block with my b16 head and tranny, huh. Hmmm.. Where you at, hatchback?

buy an intake, take your head in to be ported and polished, add a bigger cam, get a mitsubishi turbo, and manifold, remove your cat, get a cherry bomb...

my car is a stock d16 with a bigger cam, with all the rest of the crap and even b18's don't beat me...

i gotta dohc zc swap in my 90 hatch si and i love it. the swap is relatively easy compared to most and there are few wiring changes. its also not that expensive. the dohc zc is rated from the factory at 130 hp.
