Default Approximate total cost of engine swap?

Can anybody off the top of their head name all of the possible motors that will go into the 88-91 CRX within reason. Also, the horsepower of each and the approximate cost of the total swap, not including labor. I just read where a b18c would fit. Just curious how fast this little car would be with that motor? 12 second 1/4's maybe?

This type of info can be found very easily. Don't make others do your homework.

I said off the top of your head. This would require no homework.

It is not that hard to search....
any b series will fit
Zc and d series will drop in and bolt right in
h series requires work

Check here for prices...

Figure $500-$1000 labor if your gonna have someone put it in for you.

I think the b16a is the best bang for your buck and it bolts right in.

Check this too if you're interested in the b16a: http://tech.hybridgarage.com/tech/b16/index.html

If you had it to do over again, would you still do it? Was the extra power worth 3 grand? Is it all that much faster? Also, did you ever figure out your ticking problem?

I did mine myself and got an LSD. It came out to a little over 3k but I had some other issues you might not have. The transmission cannot be rebuilt and they tend to have bad third gears, mine was already popping out when I got it and it quickly deteriorated. It's worth it, the stock motor sucks.

What exactly does LSD do? I know it's something to do with the tranny and cost 300 more bucks.
