Default 85 CRX si head swap?

I recently bought an '85 CRX si (113,000 miles, $1700, I can't believe the deal). The previous owner did not change the oil often enough, and the head is definitely leaking. Last time I did this, I just had the current head rebuilt. Is there another head that would fit it and improve performance, and where would I find one? How much trouble would it be? The rebuild of the current head will cost about $500, so it seems to makes sense to try to find a better one. This is a California car, if it matters.

Just get another stock head. The performance in these engines is fully realized when you put an intake, header and exhaust....headwork will gain power also, as well as a ported throttle body. I have heard of more than one making 185 whp NA (extreme race builds of course).

The D15A3 is a great engine. It just needs to breathe.

If you wanna change stuff around, put a ZC, D16A1, or B-series....now we are talking some $$$

That's interesting. What kind of intake modification would help?
