Fragileone

I drive a 1989 Civic CX with 366,000 Km's, all stock. I picked the car up 6 months ago and this rattle has only started recently, but is slowly getting worse. It sounds like it could be somesort of exhaust rattle, but when we put it on the hoist, nothing seems loose. Everytime I hit a pump, no matter how large or small, I can hear it.

We've checked control arms and they have checked out to be ok.

I would describe it as a heat shield rattle, but louder and strong enough to feel the vibrations inside the car.

Any known issues with this year car? That might help me on my quest to at least locate the rattle. I don't necessarily want it gone, just some peice of mind in knowing that it is nothing major (after-all the car does have quite a few kilometers on her)

I know my description is vague, but thats really all I can say for sure

Find a bump. Have someone stand near the bump. Drive over the bump. Ask the person where the sound seemed to come from. While on the hoist, simulate a bump by banging on things. Push and pull on things. Hard to diagnose over the internet.

mine was my resagnator, looks fine till you take it off it was seperated inside
