help/ urgent, can't get my trany back in
I took out my trany on my 91 civic hatch back, I put a new one in but I can't get the shaft in to the engine, thought the cluch plate. the splines seem to be lined up but I still need to push the trany over about a nother inch or so.
Does any one know any thing about this? Do I need to press the trany in or something. The trany is the same one as my old one, So it should fit

either you haven't properly gotten the clutch alignment tool in or the tranny you are trying to put in may have a different spline size or count preventing you from getting it to fit
here is a list of flywheel/clutch/spline size & count

You should check if the clutch is aligned properly and if it is check to see if you have the same amount of splines of the clutch. (Count amount of splines.) If it is right get some one turn the crank pulley counter clock-wise while you wiggle the tranny on.

well with the info you every one has given me, I realize I am trying to put an 88 trany in a 91 civic. if I buy a 88 clutch plate will it fit on the 91 fly wheel or do I have to do something with that too. Do I have to find a 90-91 trany or can I use what I have?

hey thanks for all the help! I finally found the right stuff I was looking for. I had look through a hole lot of junk yards but it is worth it. I found all sorts of stuff including one of those first honda's in the us, the ones with a motor cycle engine. wasn't much left to it.
thanks again for the help
