Default B16 ques

Ok........ I recently have decided to drop a b16 into my 88 crx si. I came across a b16a2 from a civic si that i had planned to use. My car i assume OBD0 and the b16 is OBD1 so do i have to convert this and if so what will i need to complete the conversion?

Sorry if this is a stupid question

The motor is odb2 and are you going to use the hydro tranny or a cable one?

Over a thousand dollars. Mounts, shifter linkage, axles and intermediate shaft, and various (expensive) electronic bits depending how you want to run the engine.

So it would be like a b16a1 swap. I guess what i want to know is how simular or diffrent a b16a2 swap is from a b16a1 swap using a cable tranny in a crx.

The B16A1 doesn't exist. Don't confuse B16A generations with "A1, A2" etc.

The A2 in it's Civic and del Sol forms use hydro transaxles, as well as OBD-II management systems. Both have to be delt with prior to swapping into an OBD-0, cable trans CRX.

Buy a cable trans from a first gen B16A, that's the easiest way to do it.

If it was up to me, I'd modify the stock harness to run the new engine. Have a service manual and electrical troubleshooting manual ready.

HASport sells an add-on harness for first gen B16A's, but I don't know if they'll hybrid an entire harness for you. That would be about as much work as the 3G hybrid harnesses they sell for $350ish.
