Default need help with oil pres. guage

i want to install an oil pressure gauge but im having the hardest time trying to figure out where i hook the tube up to the motor its a b15y7 or y8 cant remember right now. any help would be much appriciated.

What do you need it for? Your oil light is sufficent.

because my car burns alot of oil and on long trips i dont like to let it get low enough for the light to come on. it been pretty low before and ive never seen the light come on either.....it would just make me sleep well rather feel better about it

If you want to feel better you should address the problem directly and repair it, not monitor it

Exactly. You could probably fix it for the price of an oil guage. Also it's just fine until the light comes on. Just get a new motor for $300. If the light comes on when you start the car it works.

so u guys dont know where i would go about hooking it up then?? and im not the type of person to go spend a lot on just a guage it cost me like $6 .....this is just a temporary thing until i can get the money for the repairs or a new motor which will be about the same price probably

It would be easier to check the oil everytime you put in gas... like you're supposed to.

Get an oil filter spacer pre-tapped with a couple 1/8th NPT ports. Plug one, put the gauge sender or capilary tube in the other. Last time checked, those go for around $50-60.

thanks kai, atleast someone answered my question. but it burns more sometimes than it does others so i would like to monitor it as much as i can. also i do check it every 150 miles and every fill up. it will burn about .5 quarts every 150 give or take but i check just to make sure

That's horrible, you need a rebuild or replacement engine ASAP.
