Default Best Engine/Motor for a Engine Swap

I want to do a engine swap. I want to out a DOHC VTEC motor in my car. I know all the horpower and stats of the motors but I wanted to know from your experiences which is the best motor. I was thinking B16 or LSVTEC. I am willing to spend $1,500 for the motor. I know that is not a lot but I need to strip the parts I got on my current motor to get more cash. So for $1,500 or less what motor should I get?

What are your power goals and do you plan on N/A or F/I?

Well that is an OBD1 motor and your car i assume is OBD0.
Why not just get a b16a1 and save yourself some time. Also the b16a1 has the cable tranny whereas the motor you posted has the hydraulic transmission.
You need to do more homework and research!

Yes go w/ B16A1 cable tranny. 160hp/111 tq. I have that in my 91 Si Civic & I love it.You'll also need motor mounts, axles, shift linkage & if I remember wire harness. You'll spend around $3200 complete swap unless you plan on doing the swap yourself. You can also order LSD for another $250. I didn't have that extra cash @ the time, because I would have got LSD. Make sure you get a manual B16A1 ecu instead of an auto. That's what happened to me so I had to get mine chipped. I'm suppose to get mine installed anyday when the guy who did my swap have time to come to my house. He has so many projects. My top speed will be removed & redline will be longer either 8.5 or 9K. I wont go pass 8.5 on stock internals.

It is a JDM b16a, perect for your CRX.

PAY THE 300 FOR THE LSD IT IS WORTH IT AND YOU WILL REGRET IT IF YOU DONT

I know the stock motor mounts and linkage for the B16 will not work on my car. I was told I need different motor mounts or cut the linkage. Can I buy aftermarket motor mounts and use the stock linkage without any cutting? This is the motor I will be getting

no your going to need to get a shift linkage for your application or modify your own. i modified mine on mine 90 civic and it was a bitch but it works pretty good although i think i might just buy the one thats recommended i think it would work a little better. i got a good set of motor mounts off ebay for like 200 and and the so soild. but ya your going to need the the odd hose off an 90 integra mainly the throttle cable and the upper and lower rad hose. good luck
