Default Zc vs b18

I have a 90 civic hb si with a D16, it has 121,000 miles on it and i want to upgrade to either a Zc swap or a B18. I am new to the differnt engines and would like to eventually turbo it but it would start out as the enigine swap, intake full 2.5 exhaust and new ecu. Then when i have the money turbo it with a greddy turbo kit.

So what im asking is what would be the bang for my buck with turbo in mind.

Go with the Ls swap then turbo it. There is alot more parts for the b18 then for the zc.

B18 comes out of an integra. Two different B18s. B18a comes out of a 90-93 teg. B18b out of a 94-01 teg. I'm pretty sure the specs are the same on both i'm guessing b18a is obd1. B18b is ob2.

If i had a crx i would personally drop a b16a1. The gears are pretty short on the b16 tranny.

Sorry i said crx but i meant civic hb. My friend has a 91 civic hb with a type r in it. Needless to say it hauls ass. Another friend of mine has a 93 hb with a h22 in it. It hauls more ass.

94-95 B18B1 is OBD1, 96-99 are OBD2a, and 00-01 are OBD2b. You can bolt up any b series tranny to any b series engine. A Type R tranny would be the best choice since the ratios are pretty close and it comes with LSD.

Personally, I would put the B18 on. The aftermarket support is much better.

They are close enough in spec to make it impossible to feel the difference.

The B18A came in OBD-0 from 90-91 and OBD-1 from 92-93. The B18B continued as an OBD-1 from 94-95, then went to OBD-2 as per fereral law for the '96 model year.

having done both swaps many times (over 2 dozen ZCs and 6-8 B18As) i can tell you that in stock form in the same model car, the DOHC ZC is much quicker than a B18A1 and just about the same as LS-VTEC

Ya but i have herd that one there are not many parts out there, and they only handle up to 200hp. B18's on the other hand i know handle more hp. Ok so pretty much all the b18's are the same just slight differnces, what one would be ideal for tranny use. And year of integra did it come out of. I think i might want something with wider gears cuz in the freeway with my d16 going 75 at 4,000rpms seems high don't it?

Also were is the best place to get a b18a? Or how much should i spend on one.

Oh and im not stupid when it comes to cars, ive been working on old bugs and hot rods this is just new to me. With bugs it's just dual port single port and how big. So just want to know what will be the best choice.

And i know you probly wont get down this far to my post but how much and how hard would it be to put in a h22?
