Default Need help, troubleshooing new head unit

Hey, I hope someone has some insight on this. My friend installed a new head unit into my car while I was away. When I got back, it doesn't work. He said I had to register it for it to work,.... Which im preety sure is untrue. Now the wierd thing is when I turn my car on it makes a noise like the CD player is moving around, but the face never has any power to it. I would ask my friend wtf he did wrong and fix it, but hes in jail for a little while.......... so does anyone have any thoughts??? Thanks in advance!

If it has power and doesn't work, it's time for a new head unit.

This happened to me....Check your acc wire and your ground...You might have to do what I did and just wire your acc to your positive terminal on your battery and then wire your negative to the negative terminal on your battery...Just make sure to completely turn off your head unit or your battery will be dead as a doorknob..lol

I hope I helped a little!!!

Definitely check that ALL wires are correctly wired. PDF map of Honda radio wires:
http://www.installdr.com/Harnesses/HA-Wiring.pdf
Then, with a Voltmeter, check the 2 power leads. 1. (12v+) tied to ignition switch 2. Always hot (12v+), direct to battery & fused (15a). In doing this, you're able to check both the (12v+)leads, but also the (-)ground wire. It's worth the extra step, do it. By working systematically, you'll be able to determine where the fault lies.

the wireing is simple. It's not like the guy cut your factory harness, you got a harness from a shop right, to plug into the stock one. When you wire the factory specific harness to the radio (pioneer, sony ect.) harness it's colour to colour. If there isnt a colour to match, dont wire it to anything. Simple.

Ok, I'll try b16s approach of color to color first, thats a little of my speed. If that doesnt work, I'll have someone explain to me in my native language of idiot what weasel said because I have no idea what that meant. Either way I'll post what happens when I do it tonight. Thanks guys

Simply check the fuse or fuses first. Then do all of the other stuff posted above. It's not hard to figure out. Like posted above, the radio could be screwed up.
