how "well" a clutch catches is a matter of the condition of your clutch. How SOON it catches is a matter of adjusting the clutch cable. If you live in San Fransisco, you'll probably want it adjusted so it catches quickly, for example, and that can be done adjusting the cable. All you have to do is tighten the nut around where your clutch cable meets the holding bracket on your tranny. It's pretty easy to find: It's a big, black plastic nut on your clutch cable.
