Any 2nd gens out there?
Just wondering if anyone else on here has a 2nd gen Civic (80-83) Mine is an 81 Wagon. Still looks and runs beautifully. The paint is a bit faded in some areas, but is in otherwise excellent condition. It was primarily garaged, so the body is about 98% rust free (have a couple minor surface spots on the rear quarter panel and around the rear hatch that need to be sanded) Driver's seat needs to be refurbished, but the rest of the interior is exceptional. The engine is a 1.5 liter CVCC 4-cylinder rated at 67 hp and the transmission is a 3-speed 'Hondamatic.' Because the car is so light (approx 1800-1900 lbs.) I can keep up with traffic pretty well, but the car doesn't like to exceed 55 mph. I've taken it up to 60 on the interstate, but in 3rd gear...the engine RPMs get pretty high. I plan to swap in a 5-speed pretty soon.

A manual transaxle would be great.
I'm not sure about engine swaps for early Civics... I've read something about using early Accord and Prelude engines, but I can't remember if that was in the first or second generation bodies.
