Default B16A JDM cams VS 97 GSR...

i was wondering if there was a difference. I bought a JDM B16, and then found out it was an Auto Will the 5 spd gsr cams give me alot more umph? Thanks

Yeah if you are going to spend the money get CTR or ITR (POST 2000 models for higher lift on the ITRs). Thats if you wanna stay in the honda market. Theres alot of choices to go with which also would alot of time involve a VT change but check out your options. I would at least get the CTR or ITR 2000+. That is if you cant return the B16a for a manual. Even if you can return it get the cams! lol. The other thing to remember is that the auto B16a doesnt have the compression that the standard does. Why they did that who knows. But thats life. Try to trade, then get cams.

also remember, if you go with the CTR or ITR cams that the ONLY time you can use the B16a VT is if you dont raise the RPM limit of stock.

The GS-R cams will help. They usually go for 1/4 the price of ITR or CTR cams, so you might as well get them.

i just got intake and exhaust cams for a 97gsr for $81 shipped to my door. Score or not? Thanks

this maybe a stupid question: but i am still learning, why can you not use the b16a VT if you raise the RPM limit of stock?

Valve float and the like. Basically the valves can't close fast enough, problems follow.

$81 is a fair deal.

What mods can be done if any to prevent them from floating?
