A/C Compressor Removal
#2
I talked to an A/C guy about it, and he suggested removing the radiator, the power steering pump (don't take off the lines) and loosen two bolts from the bottom, two from the top, and lift it out the top.
Hope that helps. I need to do the same job myself, but I'm going to do the timing belt, the water pump, and the A/C all at the same time.

you have to take the compressor off the bracket and then the bracket off the block.
Of you aren't planning on putting it back in pull the a/c fan out first which is on the radiator right in front of it. You don't need it and it will give you more clearance.

are you trying to take your ac out if so you could legally get the refrigerant sucked out or just let it out (illigally) by taking out the lines from the compressor and theres the 4 bolts holding it in and a 10mm tensioner and i think a 12 or 14 on the tensioner pully

2) Never, ever run a cooling fan off a toggle switch. It will kill your battery (high drain at cruise, and forgetting to turn it off,) overcool your car, cause screwy aerodynamics over ~25mph, risk overheating the car (oops, I forgot to turn the fan on!) etc. They make thermoswitches for this exact purpose, I'd know, I use one on my car.

When you remove the A/C, your fan will no longer work. The wiring is integrated together. What is happening is that your fan is not gettin a ground signal any more. You will have to rewire the fan up to a switch. I have removed the A/C on several CRX's and this happens every time. If you dont believe me take your ac off and try it. Several peole are saying that it isnt true, but it is, you can buy a relay and wire that up, the quick fix is a toggle and wire it to a 12v switch, so when yu turn off you ingnition you cant forget that your fan is running, As far as battery drain at high speeds....hmmmm.. havenbt heard that one before.
