Default Ecu? where can i get a ecu for cheap new or used?

I have a 91` civic hb. I am currently doing a d16z6 swap. I need an ecu to activate the vtec. I hear the p27 or p28 ecu will do the job, but how do i get my hands on one?

I've got a pr3 5 speed obd0 ecu that all you have to do is run 3 wires to wire up vtec. It's chipped from nippon motorsports to run a jdm b16a!

you don't have to have a computer to activate your vtec. all you have to do is cut the plug then run a wire to a switch on your interior. then you have control of when your vtec kicks in. if you want it to kick in a 3500 then all you do is flip the switch.

Don't bring up dead threads to sell your shit.

That's one of the stupidest things I've heard in a while. Use an RPM activated switch, readily availible from summit racing, for around $45. That will activate VTEC at the exact RPM you want it to kick in without needing to flip a swtch every time. I recommend sticking with the stock engagement point until you get an aftermarket cam or have yours reground, however.

but say your car is an everyday driver and you don't want it to kick in every single time you hit 3500 rpm for gas milage purposes. ( i know vtec probalby doesn't use that much more gas and if you are building a race car then you aren't that worried about it but every little bit helps with the way gas prices are these days.)maybe that is stupid too, i don't know.

That's still pointless. If you don't want it to activate, just put an on/off switch in the RPM signal line of the RPM switch. At least that would make a little bit of sense.

The easier solution would be to shift earlier... like you're supposed to under normal conditions.
