The engine is in pieces. I talked to a guy at a Honda place, as in The Fast and the Furious kind of Hondas, and he said to take everything to the metal recycler. They had some really nice Hondas there.

Thanks to everybody for their interest.

ill give you $50 for an assembled engine and tranny. seriously. thats all its worth.

btw 'Can't Catch Me', that engine uses different mounts than a 2nd gen's, so it wouldnt be worth the work.

Not to try and step on your toes trying to rip a guy off... er, get a deal...

Junkyard will nail you for $150 for a complete engine, $150 for a good tranny, and $225 for both. I've bought several over the past 6 years, and the prices haven't changed.

That's also a junkyard, where the guys are trying to make money. They'll charge you the same $150 for a three cylinder Geo engine.

Ok, I've also got two spare Si long blocks that I've had three offers of $400 or more for each in the past 6 months.

The demand is there to the right people.

okay maybe im a little off. i just dont know who would want a used Si engine when they can just as easily swap in a d16a1. im surprised people are willing to pay $400 for em.

They aren't bad engines, and they're really the only true "direct drop in" for a first gen CRX. Every other "bolt in" engine people claim still require little shims here, or a tweaked mount there, or "minor" wiring changes.

Mostly it's people building them up or trying to do a turbo project that seem most interested in them. I keep them around for a drop in spare engine since I lean so hard on mine.

Jeeze, I'll have to start buying them up and find some of these people. I like the little 'A3, but not $400 like it.
