Default ac in Si

Hey i just got a 1989 honda crx Si and i am moving to airizona shortly and i was wondering if any of the Si's came with airconditioning and how hard it would be to put it in my self if possible?thnks

all of my Si's, CRX's and HB's have had AC. even my DX CRX did as well. that's been 4 cars total, but only 1 of them had working ac. so it should have AC. as far as putting it on, you will just need everything for the system and it should just bolt right up.

You need the whole system, a full set of new o-rings, seals, and the like, probably a new/refub compressor, a new dryer, and a charge. Bank on $400-600 if you can put it in yourself.

Once it is all together, you better hope it doesn't leak.

i say just carry around a couple of bags of dry ice,$600 buys a whole lot .

oops,usually i try aand do my sum what imformative post first.but i guess its going second. ac=worse gas milage,less hp.

yeah, but in AZ, air conditioning is a godsend. You pretty much can't have a car without A/C down there, if you do, you are seriously hardcore (Coming from a VA resident.)

maybe thats why half of the places down there have the misting systems, authough the humidity isnt too bad there hondas take a beating

Even my 89 DX wagon has A/C. Can't live with out it because of the windsheild rake

i believe the ac was a dealer option on all models. my current si did not have it installed but my 88 standard hatch had it and it worked great. try and maybe find a si at a junk yard and rip the whole system out and go from there.
