Fixed heater controls, what does this switch do?
Scored a mint climate control switch off eGay for $51. It showed up two days ago and I installed it yesterday. Now that I have got them working I have a question. There are two buttons on the top right. They look like selector switches for outside air/recirculate. However there is another slider switch in the dashboard above the little change compartment that has a similar symbol on it. When I move it side to side, it appears to cut the air flow to the vents on the end of the dash. Exactly what is this switch and what is it for? Also, am I right about the other two? I noticed one position makes the blower motor really crank.
BTW my car does not have A/C if that matters.

That's just the fresh air/recirc buttons and lever. The one with the circle in the car closes the outside vents (it sucks air from the inside and blows it back out the vents) while the one with the arrow coming into the car sucks fresh air from outside and blows it inside.
Cruise around with it on fresh, and when you drive by a dead skunk, turn it on recircuate. It won't suck the dead skunk smell in.

You still get full fan use, windows for the summer, and "hot" for winter. Treats me just fine.

Cool, thanks for the artwork by the way. Like they say, a pic is worth a thousand words. I figured that those buttons were for outside air and recirculate, but the fact that the blower motor kicked up a notch in the one position really threw me. So what does the lever do? Thats what confused me the most. Do I have to move the lever and push the button to totally shut off outside air? I never saw a setup like this before. Thanks again for the help.

The lever does the same thing, but it only controls the one vent. It's just a cable, it works without the button being pushed.
I have noticed the blower acting funny in some cars because of this, it's probably just harder to suck the air in from one of the settings.
