Did they actually say "civic" on them anywhere or just CVCC? I just remember seeing CVCC and having my dad sound it out "siv-vic"

From memory the cars had badges "Civic", "Accord" & "Prelude" with the special CVCC versions denoted by their extra "CVCC" badge. Automatic cars of this era had an actual "hondamatic" badge on the rear to denote the 2 speed autobox.
Honda made the N360/N600, cars, and the more stylish little Honda Z coupe (1970-75) micro cars, all powered by the air cooled vertical twin. The Honda Z ran alongside the original Civic for some years, much like the later City was produced alongside the later Civic. The N360/N600/Z were never brought to North America.
Lets also not forget Honda's S800 1960s 2 seater sportscar.
