were do you live? all the smog laws change state to state.
i will tell you what you need is a crx/hb there f*cking great.
if you lice in ca,none of the b16 will pass emisions with out modifications and approval from the inspection ref.a usdm b18c"gsr"will pass smog if you convert your car to the same obd as it would have come stock from the factory.auctually what you want is a usdm b16 "outs the 99-00 si's and a few del soles these would work for emissions too.

when ordering online or through someone, how woud i know if it's a USDM. I mean, just because the B16A2 came in the late model Sols doesnt mean that that any B16a2 is going to be a USDM motor....so confusing......

Rear wheel drive. It's only a problem if you suck at driving. Get a 240.

I have to, I've owned both. The Mustang is fun to get sideways in but the mpg sucks ass and there is way to much oversteer in that car. If you can't control it don't own it, so I sold mine. I've had 4 crx's and they've always been the best cars for me, however a 240 sx sounds real sweet, they look pretty bad ass.

Oh and cuz you're moving to L.A they'll jack any car they want to it doesn't matter wtf it is. If someone wants it they'll get a hold of it.

If we want to pick beans between a fast 5.0 or CRX, I'd take the CRX simply because I know how to work on one.

Oh, and I hate Fords.

Except for the Torino.

Mopar > Chevy > doggy poo poo > Ford :chuckles:

It doesn't matter which b16a you get if you want to pass smog. You will need a usdm p30 ecu and a usdm b series intake manifold for the smog device (I forget which smog device). The only thing that sucks about going 1st gen b16a is that you'll have to convert to obd1. With the 2nd gen b16a, there is no need for that.

Also, I'm not exactly sure if they check to see if the ecu is usdm. So you may be able to pass with a jdm p30 ecu.

The smog referee will smog the engine as a del sol vtec engine (b16a3).
