Default Door Hinge Creeks...

Does anyone else have this problem on there 88-91 Crx Si? The friggin door hinge if you open it at a certain point it makes a damn popping sound. Is there a way to get rid of this?

Wait... the hinge creeks, or it pops? The creeking noise is easily fixed with WD40 or white lithium grease or the like, while popping, I don't know.

I have the exact same problem with my 89 CRX SI. To me it appears the door hinge broke the weld and needs to be welded back into place, and tension causes it to pop against the frame because it gets caught at certain points. I havent investigated the problem further, but over the summer im doing major work on my car and thats one of the first things to be fixed.

Well let us know what happens, I want to resolve the popping sound, it gets annoying sometimes.

on the 89 crx si i just bought everytime i opened the passenger door it would pop... but i jut re-aligned the fender and it has stoped... i didnt check the door hinges though...

It sounds like the door stop the thing in the center of the A pillar I have yet to see a 4th gen without the door stop pulled out of the post.

You know I have that same popping sound on my drivers door. I heard the same thing that ullerw mentioned, the hinge needs welded back onto the frame. I don't know how to weld or know anyone that does, so one of these days I plan on taking it to a body shop for a quick fix.

on my rex it has been welded back togather and busted again, that was a nasty weld someone used

My 4th gen does it also. like half-way out it just goes pop. and it feels like it drops a half an inch down

If someone fixs this problem, can you take sum pictures? do u have to take out the dash? how do u get to that spot to weld it
