HELP! Problems removing oil pan on '88 CRX DX
Well oil drain hole is screwed, so I need to take the oil pan off to get it retapped or replaced or something.
I took off the downpipe (lower part of header) and an engine brace or stiffener or whatever it is that was in the way and took off all of the bolts on the oil pan. Now the problem is that the flywheel cover seems to be in the way... what a stupid ass design!! So does this mean that I am going to need to remove the axle from the driver's side to get the oil pan out?! Is there some other way?! Please help!!
I would hate to have to remove the axle, that always gives me problems... but at least I have air now so it wouldn't be too horrible.
And while we're on the topic, can anyone tell me what other oil pans would fit on the 1.5L engine from the CRX (and what is the exact engine code again? I forget, I'm really an Integra guy). Also, I could probably just take the oil pan to a machine shop to have them re-tap the hole, right? Possibly move up to a larger size?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give!!!

the flywheel cover comes off easy...it is assessible so that mechanics can remove it without anything else to inspect the clutch...i don't see why you can't remove it
i think any 88-91 crx civic oil pan will fit
