Default goddamn check engine light and clutch

I installed a new header, plugged in the O2 sensor and now I'm getting check engine light after a few runs to redline. It goes on after 10-15 minutes of driving and doesn't go on until I've run it hard, it goes on about 5 minutes after a hard run. It turns off right after I restart the car and doesn't come back on for another 5-10 minutes. I'm thinking its the oxygen sensor, I don't know what else. I heard if you dont screw it in real tight and threadlock it, it might have problems. Any ideas, similar expirences? I don't see what else it could be besides the sensor. I'll buy a new one because I love the extra power I get over 4000 rpms with the new header which I got for free.

Another question I have is how long should my clutch hold up for if it slips a little bit when I shift hard at redline from first to second and just a little bit to third? It still holds up fine under normal driving. I'm a little tight on cash right now and would like to hold off a little bit before I get it done. The other thing I was wondering is if it needs to be adjusted because it has lots of bite off the line and the lady I got it from said it was pretty new.

I had a similar problem with my 91 accord. It ended up being the egr. The light would come on after the computer checked all the inputs (o2 sensors, egr, engine temp) stuff like that. Although it wont help you since you dont have an egr. And about your clutch if its slips now and your low on cash I would just drive it normally. But my 90 Si still has the stocker and it got 121,000 on it.

It doesn't have an EGR.
I was thinking it might be the fact that the gas is a year and a half old?
