Default V-AFC and cams

Is it pointless to get a V-AFC without upgrading your stock camshafts?

What I mean is, it would make sense right? Since all you're doing is switching between hi and lo earlier and later, it won't do you any good on a stock vtec block, because with the stock camshafts, the vtec is made to turn on at the right times, whereas with upgraded camshafts, you can adjust the time that your valves are open? Tell me if I am on the right track plz.

no, no, no. A V-AFC is an air/fuel controller, and yes, it will be benificial now but not as much as after you install a cam(s). It also has a built in VTEC controller, but that is completely useless with stock cams.
