Default 1st Gen Dx to SI

Hi, I own an 86 CRX DX. Recently, my engine died. We did what we could to save it but in the end a crack in the block killed it. Now, through some friends I know, I have in my possession a DX motor and tranny, and I also have an entire SI parts car. The engine in the SI is in perfect running condition, though I will perform a rebuild on either engine before one of them goes in the car. I also have the entire fuel and electronics system from the SI including ECU. The only thing its missing is the tranny, and the body isnt in good condition so just using that car isnt an option. I am now looking at putting one in. I would like to know if any of you have performed a DX to SI swap, obviously taking a complete fuel system swap and a large portion of the wiring harness. Luckily, I do have all that. That will also open up the door to a ZC swap later, so that is the preffered swap for me. However, I would like to get your opinions on it and insights in to the swap, any help would be appreciated.

been there done that. it is a pain, but do-able. put the cars side-by-side and work thru the entire car. I had problems with axle lengths. we modified them to work. we also changed the chassis harness to 87 integra, rather than si,for the zc swap at the same time. civic to civic should not be too bad. pm if you have specific questions.

It's pretty basic, just incredibly time consuming. Compair the DX to the Si. It the SI has a different part, rip it out and put it in the DX. Sounds simpler then it really is.
