A/F gauge hook up HELP.
Okay first off my gauge works cuz i installed it in my 92 accord with a 4 wire o2 sensor.. when i switched it back to my 91 hatch si it won't read anything but the last line on the RICH side.. no matter what.. it don't move, and at idle it should be bouncing all over.. my 91 si wire harness only has 1 wire connecting to the o2 sensor and thats not it.. wtf could it be???

Well, those gauges suck anyway... don't expect perfect readouts from them.
That said, is your O2 sensor good? Is your car running rich? No way to tell without a wideband.

well yeah i know they suck, i need something to go off from my turbo..... i got a brand new o2 sensor in there... car should be just like normal.. still only reads all the way rich 24/7 whenever the car is on.. will NOT move 1 bar.. and i checked where i work (NAPA) and all the 02 sensors for the 88-91 only have 1 wire so i don't get why it's not reading shit on the A/F gauge at all.

ok, the shitty A/F gauges is better to tune with than just my ears.... i'd rather not detonate... i'd rather run rich than lean.... so do you know what to hook it up to or not?

Well, for one, the only difference between a one wire and a four wire is that the four wire is heated. Not a big deal, but it is more accurate when cold then a one wire. It should connect the same, I'm guessing the gauge has either three or four wires (signal, power, and one or two grounds) so once you tap into the signal line it should be easy as pie.
You still haven't answered my question about if the car actually is running rich already. Do you already have any larger injectors or an FMU or something in there?
If you feel so inclined, you could try to swap in a four wire O2. The only problem is, I don't know how the heater circuit is controlled or if it runs off of a 12v chassis or 5v ECU power system.

Yeah, it may be running a wee bit rich. You could take it down to -47% and see if that helps the case.
I have yet to figure out why Honda guys call this a "hack," it's a perfectly normal thing to do in the RX-7 world... except we usually use 760cc's :dunno:
