Default An F20C Swap?

Is it possible to swap an S2000 motor into a CRX? Just been researching swaps recently and haven't seen that one. Any bold enthusiasts out there try this?

:doh:

it would be easier and cheaper to swap a Chevy 350 into a CRX than to try with an S2000 engine...

S2000 = RWD
CRX = FWD

I'd estimate the job at $25,000... maybe more... just to get the S2000 engine into the car.

Yeah, I know a CRX is FWD. I'm talking about just the motor, not the whole driveline. Wouldn't it work like a Type R swap? Or are motor mounts the challenge?

it's not just the motor itself...it is the transmission...you cannot bolt a fwd tranny up to the f20c motor

here's where it will get really expensive
you'll have clearnace issues so lots of planning and development costs
you'll have to fabricate new motor mounts
you'll have to fabricate a transmission or somehow get a fwd tranny and drivetrain to accept the f20c motor

if it was easier then you'd have read about someone else doing it and kits starting to come out on the market by now

Not even close. The "Type R" engines are all b-series (B18C Type R, B18C5, B18C3, B16B) and drop right in with the proper mount kit.

The F20C is similar to the K-series, not the older F-series or H-series cousins.

My favorite saying for times like these: If you have to ask, you probably can't do it/afford it.

Something no one else mentioned is that the engines turns in the opposite direction than fwd engines. This is why it would be hard to get a tranny to mount to it

I kinda implied that with my K-series reference, but it's nice to point out by itself.

In an effort to make Honda engines more appealing to other car manufatures to buy and use in their own car models, Honda started making engines that spin in the "normal" direction. These include the new D17A, the new V6's, the K-series, the F20C, and whatever the new S2k engine is... something like an F22C.
