Engine Swap for an 88 CRX Si
I want to do an easy swap, but also one that is worth the money to do. I'll be doing this myself along with friends who are pretty handy with a tool.
What engine? What are my choices?
Where should I look to get it?
US model or JDM model?
What is the real difference and is one better then the other.
Maryland does have emission testing so I would need to be able to pass that.
Also as far as future plans....I would also want to be able to Turbo it or Supercharge it.

I'd go w/a ZC...you can use your Si tranny and it bolts right up to it. No new motor mounts or anything. it took my brother and I a weekend to put in the ZC. That was our first swap.....so if you've got a friend who's handy w/tools, go for it. Just my $.02

There's a couple diff ZC's....one has about 130 (DOHC)......there is a brown covered one that I believe is a SOHC and there is also a special DOHC that has like 135 or 140. I forget the details on that one though.
Get the DOHC ZC and you'll be fine.
It won't pass Cali emissions period. It'll pass Colorado emissions!!!!! You can check out www.thezcresource.com to find info and just ask around. linking to other boards is not permitted, there is plenty of information here, if you are a fan of another board, then that is where you can spend your time, not here linking elsewhere - 1stGen

Check out www.ardperformance.com for great info on various engines for your CRX and what parts or other things you'll need to do or have on hand.
