My first guess would be stuck dizzy rotor, or the screw that holds it is gone. I've seen 3 engines do that so far so it is something that is very probable.

flipped to dizzy, got spark now, even saw some exhaust so I know it's trying to fire up, now I'm going to re-do the timing again (finaly) and pray it works. If not, tomorrow the old school all around handyman genius car guys are coming outa the woodwork

We re-did the timing once or twice, then he decided we should adjust the valves..Good thing since some of them weren't even opening...So we adjusted the valves, re-set the timing 1 more time, and still not fire...so we check the dizzy, seems as though it was right the first time, doh! So we flipped it one more time and it fired up and with the new head and prolite flywheel it runs like a bat outa hell, spun switching into second gear at only 4k rpm!
