its not easy thats for sure.i got the same problem.
its around $700 for the install and 120-650 for a clutch depending on what you want.
if you just need something to drive on,go with the cheap one but if you are going to be racing i would get a stage 2 . if your going to do it yor self, you need to take off the axles and remoce it all then drop the tranny.kinda a pain in the ass,i live with a transmission specialist hes going to do mine here at home for 300 bucks instead of the shop cost.if you dont know what your doing your in for a headache

If you know how to replace a clutch on another car then it's pretty much the same. The only that sucks though in my opinion is that when you remove the tranny, you have to support the engine somehow.

lol..lemmie tell you a funny story......I had just gotten my 93 DX( 2 yeas ago)..and everyhing was great, test drove it great too it home for a couple of days( I can do that cause My step-mother works for a dealership) Finally I was ready too sign the papers. My dad told me once I sign the papers there is no turning back.He says " for all we know the car cold break down tommorow and the dealership doesnt have to do a thing about it"..what do you know, the next day BLAM..Transmission goes on us..So we called up a salvage yard and picked one up for 300 bucks(good price )

..We are at ome now with the Transmision and My civic up on 2 Jack stands My engine being suported by a Jack and My dad under the car Benchpressing the transmission off his chest in 94 degree weather..needless to say it was the biggest pain in our ass'.Weve done tranny swaps and what ot before, but the bitch just didnt want to slide in right(ou know how that goes).now its about 1 hour and 30 mins..My dad is growing Fatigue now..can barely get it off his chest...with one last atempt before all is lost,he forces it up griding his teeth and yelling "push it in place push it in place"..Me working under pressure I have to lift some of the tranny up and slide it in place..I wiggle it..AND FINALLY..it slides in I quickly wrench in one sidemthen the other. till the tranny has enough suport to be on itself..let me tell yah..

It was HELL... also because we didnt have the propper lifts and what not go figure.

With any job, make sure you use the proper tools and that you have EVERYTHING you need before you start. If you have a decent floor jack, (don't even think of doing this with those scissor jacks that come with the car) once you get it up on stands you may be able to use the jack to help lift the tranny.

If I do end up doing it myself, does anyone have a writeup on how to or can point me in the direction of somewhere to get a writeup.
