thinking about a CRX.
i will have a total budget of around $4000. can this get me a CRX, newer the better.
i also plan to swap the engine out for something more beefy, such as a newer B-series. i plan on getting shop to do this, but i wanted to know what kind of things i would need beside the engine and transmission.
TIA

just find yourself a crx shell (no engine or one with its engine on its last legs)...that'll get you a cheapo ~$500-1000 car...a b16a1 costs around 1600 with mounts...add some more for other parts and you'll get in well under $4k

the heavier a car is the more it requires larger brakes, more powerful (heavier engine), etc.
a 2,000lb car with 200whp will out run a 300hp 3,000 lb car...that's b/c it takes 4 times the power to move something that weighs only twice as much

just b/c something is fwd doesn't mean it cannot be a sportscar...b/c if i remember the old mg's, austin healys, and porsches that invented the sportscar segment...lightweight and great balance were the key attributes...both of which a crx has

A CRX properly setup ownz the twisties. A CRX properly setup with some power... ownz the twisty owners. But, if someone doesn't like how they look or whatever, fine, don't get one, more left for us to buy
