remember f was the original force necessary to give acceleration a:
f / m = F / 2m
F = 2mf / m
F = 2f
Double the mass, double the force necessary to maintain a given acceleration a. However, I don't doubt your experience, so.... am I missing something?

howd you find it?
I have a red 89 crx si that is clean title that i'am the 2nd owner. It's complete rolling chassis, registered and smogged. I'll let it go for $1,000. Only missing swap. I'am in southern cali by Magic Mountain. Let me know.

the premise is based on the assumption that you have to hold all other factors equal and this includes drive train layout and even tire size...heavier more powerful cars require wider tires to put down the power as opposed to a lighter less powerful car...with this scenario increased weight uniformily with power will not net you same acceleration and you will have to in effect quadruple the power in order to net same acceleration

i came across this watching a good Discovery show called Junkyard Wars and they were doing the physics of drag racing (that was the premise of that episode)
