Default B18A1 into 88 Hatch Dx will I be happy?

I'm by no means looking to make a 12 second car...

My car runs fine, runs great actually!
I just want more umph behind the pedal...
88 civic hatchback Dx 5sp

I have purchased a B18A1 from a LOW miles 91 LS Acura integra...

I Need to find a tranny...
-recomendations on a tranny and a clutch?
- I dont want a stock clutch... need more holding power...

ECU...
- PR4 is the one I need correct?
- is this out of the same car i got the motor?

Mounts, axles, electrical...
- Should I just call HASport...
- I dont mind dopping a grand on their stuff... Just want it to work, work right, and work safely!!!

Will a Stock, (miles at 75,000) B18A hold a 50 shot?
-Only if I really get board...

thanks guy's!

I'm typically a V-8 guy but I really enjoy my civic!

first of all you have to convert your dx to the si injection. There are instructions and parts for this on hasport.com. You can use the axles and tranny from a 90-93 teg. You will need to buy a mount kit from hasport or another aftermarket company. The Ecu should come out of a 90-91 integra. 92-93 is obd1.

thanks...

I've heard two things on teh axles, they work and they dont work...

So you're saying the axles from a 90-93 teg will work? do they have to be modified?

the axles will work, i am going to use them for my swap soon, i already have them. I believe the only modification is removing the dust covers on them.

yah 90-91 integra non abs axles work just fine, typically ive always removed the metal cover on the outside of the axle which typically will just fall off lube it up with some extra ball bearing grease on the output spline going into the hub and call it a day. abs axles have the outter sensor ring which gets in the way, and 88-89 axles are about 2 inches too short and will rip apart the 2nd you put alot of force on them and ull have axle tripod parts all up and down the road (did that a few times unforunately). best of luck

It depends on how close you want your gears. A 92-93 GS-R transaxle will be the closest, followed by the B16A transaxles, and lastly the 90-93 RS/LS/LS-S/GS (all identical) transaxles. Are you planning to turbo, supercharge, or add nitrous (75+ shot doses) to the car? If you're not, you don't need an aftermarket clutch.
ECU...

Yes. A 90-91 PR4, from any 90-91 Integra.

I got board today. I made a box out of it.:chuckles:

Anyway, if you got bored and had a good condition fuel system and the engine was still in good running condition, it will take a 50 shot no problem.

another axel question...so 9093 axels are the same..whats the difference between abs and non abs ones? would abs axels fit? i have 90-93 axels i believe in mine (not sure cause i bought teh car with the motor, and theres the intermediate shaft), and when i gas it hard, i get a sorta vibrating sound from the front left i think, and when i take corners sorta hard to the left, i get a vibrating, but only to the left. maybe a wheel bearing, or what would happen if an axel wasnt even inserted all the way?
