**** no! try this:

-T3 50 trim turbo
-1g dsm bov
-hf or cx manifold
-adapter plate
-chargepiping made
-no need for block guard unless you wanna rebuilt your bottom end
-oil cooler would be helpful but not needed
-fmu? **** that get a V-AFC if you are going to do VTEC or S-AFC for non-VTEC
-if you get the V-AFC or S-AFC get some DSM 450cc injectors
-DSM side-mount intercooler
-oil feed and oil return line
-boost guage
-A/F guage
-turbo timer or let car run for 5 mins after you are done driving.

there thats more like it!

**** that...i guess if you have well over $2k to throw around you can do it this way...you can build the kit i had for around $700 non intercooled or $1000 intercooled with an old dsm intercooler (fmu only for these two) with a rebuilt (basically brand new turbo) and the ancillary things like boost and a/f gauges..and it'll even pass emissions if you retain the stock cat

there are alot you can make and prices can really vary i suggest hitting up thepartstrader.com for dsm bovs and used intercoolers as well as hf manifolds and turbos, and you can read up with these 2 links good luck

I'm probably going to upgrade to a b16. If that would change anything?

if u change to a bseries u cant use the hf manifold as most ppl do ud have to buy a turbo manifold or make one urself which isnt too easy if ur not a welding guru. but besides that its about the same.

So if I build the turbo for my d16a engine I would have to change the manifold and the rest would still work on a b16

yeppers. charge piping is just piping, an intercooler is just an intercooler the only thing that actually attaches to the engine is the exhaust manifold which is different between the dseries and bseries. id suggest the hf std or hx manifold for the dseries and an aftermarket turbo manifold for the bseries.
