Honda crx
I just got an 89 Honda CRX and wanted to know what the best engine would be to put in it or if I should keep the stock motor in?

what engine do u have and what do u want to do with it? ive had a b16 loved it now have a zc like it just as much. so it really depends on what ur going for. and how much ur willing to spend to get it

dx si hf?
si is the easiest to swap as it has mpfi and larger front hubs for the larger axles
dx has dpfi requiring a conversion over to mpfi
hf has mpfi but has smaller front hubs and requires you to swap out your front hubs (whole knuckle is easiest) to accept the larger axles

if its B16 or ZC... get B16, (i know someone is going to say something but...) the ZC doesn't have many aftermarket parts available... if its just your daily driver.. then maybe ZC is you for just that extra power... if you want a project and spend lots of money on.. get B16.

if uve got an si ur gonna want to either keep it or else get a b16, ur si is probably 102-105 hp as long as its in relatively good shape, a zc runs about 137 hp, and a b16 is 160. the si is a good engine dont get me wrong but the other 2 are much faster, a zc would be ideal with a smaller budget and u'll have interchangable parts between the si and can always revert back to the si if u run into parts its a direct swap. the b16 is a little trickier but is a higher platform, itd involve new mounts shift linkage and ecu. which obviously raises the price tag quite a bit, if ur working under 2000$ us id suggest sticking with a zc if ur willing to blow the money or keep ur original si engine because its a decent setup if ur working with more than id suggest at least looking into the b16
