Just wonderin this is really makin me wonder...
because I just bought an auto tranny from a 88 CRX DX...

and when I shown it too my mechanic, he said that I have the wrong auto tranny...and that its only a three speed auto...

which i found very odd?

is it possible that I have gotten the wrong tranny?

how do you identify a three speed auto tranny and a four speed automatic tranny?

and another odd thing my mechanic said was something about the solonoids being different...the tranny I bought only has one and on my car I have two???

My car is a 89 Civic DX with a auto tranny that is blown at the moment...

If it really came from an '88, it's a four speed.

 

should be a four-speed...

too bad this wasn't a couple of years ago, when i still had an auto crx tranny laying around...

 

I'm not sure that honda has made a 3 speed auto for a very long time, if at all.
