A 90-91 B18A would be a better choice then a 94+ B18B. They are nearly identical and the 90-91 engine is already OBD-0.

it is damn near impossible to make a 12 second car that also is good at auto-x...kinda two different directions with the motor...you go all motor you can auto x your little heart out but 12's are unlikely...but if you want a 12 sec turbo car, it would be difficult to auto-x because the turbo would be hard pressed to spool unless you used a littler turbo...but then no 12 sec. cause it wouldnt put out as high psi.....basically you gotta kinda pic a direction with your car and go balls out.

view point from a 4k budget..

b16's are weak high revving torqueless wonders. i'd rather have a b18a/b over a b16.

lol. ls motors are very stong, and very durable. You don't always need to rev high to win.

anyone know what a b18a/b in a 91 crx si will run in the 1/4 mile?

anyone know what a b20b/z in a 91 crx si will run in the 1/4 mile?

what kind of turbo setup do you guys recommend with that motor? revhard? drag? custom? i need a complete turbo setup.

i heard that there are height differences between the b18 and the b20 block. will they both fit under the stock hood? what kind of issues will i run into?

these are the type of questions that are best left answered by actually doing it. sure we can give you numbers, but there are way too many variables to give you a straight answer. as for the turbo question, what is the intended use for the car? drag or autox? for a drag car you'd want a reasonably sized turbo that comes in a drag or rev hard or whatever kit. for an autox car you'd want something with a smaller turbo that spools quickly, like a greddy kit or an apexi kit although im sure there arent any available for this application. another option is a jrsc for instant boost, good for autox.

crxb16er...i don't know what kind of relationship that you have with kwan...but he's bad news here in phoenix. he's ripped off so many people here, it's not even funny. i don't know if you're aware of it, but he got started here in phoenix with the apex motorsports here. ben bought it from him (ben is cool in my book, and out to make an honest buck). a buddy of mine ordered a greddy exhaust and kwan installed a glasspack muffler with some crappy pinch bent piping and insisted that it was greddy. another buddy ordered dual sebring mufflers with dual tips, but he also received glasspack mufflers with quad tips. i don't know man...he may be cool now, but he left a bad taste here.

thanks for trying to help tho. hey...i may take you up on your offer for the install if i can't find anyone here in phx to do the install at a reasonable price.

btw...where did you purchase your b16 from?
