Couple of EASY questions
1. Is the 89 LX civic 1.5L a MPFI or a DPFI. I can't remember, but I thought it said MPFI.
2. does the 88 LX civic MANUAL have better low end torque than the auto?

LXs had the D15B2 which was Dual Point.
2. does the 88 LX civic MANUAL have better low end torque than the auto?
The engines are the same and thus would produce the same Torque but Manual transfers power better than Auto does through the Torque Converter. So yes, to the ground, Manual would have more Torque.
And if you from Alabama you should be fixing up a nice '70 Chevelle SS and not these small ass japoneze pieces uh ****... :fawk:

Most people here drive civics and race civics. I like in Huntsville, Rocket City not quite the biggest redneck town. Heck there's a plymouth across the street they'll sell me for like 200 bucks, and I could fix it up, but I don't want a domestic. I want the precission engineering of a car that I've never had a breakdown in, never died, never had any problems. That's why I drive Hondas. That and it's easier to get good parts for.
I'm also looking at VW cars, BUT you can't get parts too easily for them either, at least not as easy as Hondas. I have seen good aftermarket turbos and good neuspeed gear, but other than that it's limited,

vdub's are bad cars...though fgh is right about parts...they cost much more than hondas...honda parts still cost more than domestic car parts
vw makes the decent powered 1.8t and vr6...beyond that their engines are quite average...even with the 1.8t and vr6 they aren't as refined as a honda engine...but honda is the #1 engine mfgr so it has its own strengths

The only VW parts that are cheap are the Older beetles. pick up a Hot VW's magazine and look in the back.

yeah, but hondas won't launch well with such low end torque. and i've seen accords do much better. The preludes I like also. Do you know anything about the vigor or legend V6 manual transmission?
