Possibly if it's failing or especially if it's "clogged"...do you typically run your car to "empty" before you fill it up? If so, you could be sucking sediment and sludge from the bottom of the tank into the pump.
To me this definately sounds either electrical or fuel related...I'm kinda stumped...anyone else have a better answer on bubba's fuel pump question?
I'm curious to see what is happening with his car?

Died twice on the way home tonight, one right after the other. I noticed the second time it died a cloud of exhaust behind me. I thought I had seen this before but wasn't sure.
