whatr would be the best motor to put in a crx on a budget of 2000? and which would be the most simplistic

I'd go LS and have enough for bolt-ons, good brakes, etc. Normally I can find a b18a1 swap for about 850, add 300 for mounts, and you have pleanty to get cams, etc.

why stop at an ls when you get a b20 for just a little more h:

Mini me swap and then build up from there. That's what I'm doing.

ZC....which would leave plenty of $$$ left over for whatever you want (maybe a JYT), especially if you do it yourself.

There are clearance issues for all b-series engines. It doesn't clear the stock hood. You have to go aftermarket or get the jdm zc hood or do the jdm front end conversion.
