Default 88 CRX Si tranny fit DOHC ZC?

Im sure this has been asked before but will a 88 CRX Si tranny fit the DOHC ZC engine. Someone said something about the 88 has 20 splines, the 89-91 has 21 splines and the jdm dohc zc only works with the 21 spline tranny.

The reason is i just rebuilt my stock 88 tranny and was planning on using it. If it dont I guess I wont

Thanks

u can use the 88 tranny if the zc isnt an 88 then you'll have to replace the clutch disc while uve got the tranny off its not hard at all, costs about 25 bucks at any parts store. check ur zc near the exhaust manifold and see what year it is. anyone who tells u differently doesnt know what they are talking about. the input shaft of the 88 is unique and requires a special clutch disc which u should replace unless its in near perfect condition neway. same with the clutch pressure plate. im me or pm me if u have any questions or arent familiar with the terminology. most ppl dont understand trannies and clutches until theyve got them apart in their hands.
