Default comptech headers vs. prototypeRacing headers

i have a 02' tl type s and i was looking around for some good headers. i only found these two. comptech seems like a rip and the prototype racing looks hella like something NASA would up on there rockets. i need some help. so if you guy know any dyno on wat gives you more power or wat i should get.....

Well, Comptech's headers have been out for 3 years and they have been proven to huge power gains. Prototype Racing has been saying they will come out with headers for our car since 1999......and I still have not seen them yet. Also, since you like in CA, you should probably go for the Comptech since they are C.A.R.B. approved. For the Type S, they'll give you 32hp to the wheels at the top end. Go check out www.comptechusa.com, I believe they have a dyno graph for the Type S, either a CL or a TL. I've had my Comptech headers since 1999, never regret about getting them. Plus, back in 1999, the price was $1500....

Stainless steel and I was one of the first ones to get the headers on a TL.

I'm having a really really hard time buying 32 hp gain for just headers, thats more than 12 percent of the original HP from the car.

I had headers done on my Corvette and they were only worth about 15 hp. Keep in mind that I was starting with 400, so thats like a 4 percent gain.

Plus the price is a total screw job. I got stainless long tube headers for a V8 and they were only $1200, these should be under a grand.

You can go to www.comptechusa.com and check out their dyno on a Type S. It does show 32hp to the wheels, however, it is mostly in the topend only. Comptech is a very reputable company, I really doubt they would lie about their hp gains. Plus, alot of Type S members that have the headers got their cars dynoed and it confirms about Comptech's claim.

We've had this discussion over at acuraworld.com quite a bit. The Prototype racing headers are going to cost about the same as the CT, and are equal length headers. The difference between CT's and theirs is that unequal length gives more torque down low and equal length gives more up high. It's debatable that having more up high would go a long way with our pathetic 4th and 5th gears...but I'd personally still want it down low. I don't race from a rolling 60 mph . We've got a guy selling them at $1k...I'll be buying mine shortly
