Default help with removing TL rear view mirror

I am looking to replace my TL's auto-dimming mirror on my own. I was able to disconnect the wires but can't figure out how to dislodge the mirror from the button it mounts on. Don't see any screw that is holding it down. Anyone knows how this mirror is mounted and the easiest way to remove it? I would prefer not to remove the button from the windshield if I can avoid it.

Default tried it already..

Tried twisting every which way. Also tried to slide it off in either direction. Nothing seems to work. Really didn't think it would be this hard.

how about removing the cover first (it's just above the mirror, facing you)...there might be some screws behind it.
