Default TL Rearend weaves all over the road on ice

Just got our first snow/ice-covered roads this morning and was shocked to feel the car weaving back and forth. This went on for a while until I realized it was sliding to the right more than anything. I recalled that before I replaced the almost bald Michelins that the car would hydroplane and veer to the right every time. So now I have a car that I've owned for six months and it seems to be mishandling. The car was supposedly in no collisions and I certainly didn't have one. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice. I will be getting the tires rotated and will be going to the dealership (its still under warranty).

Thank You in advance

Do you mean your rear end was sliding to the right when you are going straight? If it is, it is either an alignment problem or suspension damage. What year is your TL and how many miles? WHen was the last time you had an alignment done?

It is '02 with 30,000 miles. I had assumed that the alignment was checked when the car was certified for resale by the Acura dealership. The car also had the Type 4 (or whatever you call it) inspection a month ago. No curbs or accidents. I still go back to the fact that I bought the car from an Acura dealership 6 months ago - this should not be happening.

Just because Acura did the Certified inspection, it doesn't mean they will catch everything. How fast were you going when you started to slide on snow?

I was going 30 mph - couldn't go any faster the car was feeling 'wobbly'. I talked to the dealership today. They said to bring the car in to have a look at it. The tranny was replaced two weeks ago. The dealership said they did a four wheel alignment on it afterwards. They really are being very good about it so far. I'll keep you posted.

They will be checking the brakes again tomorrow but they did check them on the Type 4 service inspection last month. Thanks for the input.
