Anyone have trouble with TL-S wheels?
i have had my 03 TL-S for about 8 months now.......and have already bent 3 of the rims. i swerve 95% of the potholes...but of the few i have hit (even some small ones that wouldn't faze any other car)....destroyed the rim and popped the tire on the TL-S. i have had this happen 3 seperate occasions!
now, the car is stock and i have never experienced this in any of the multiple cars i have owned in the past. just seems odd it has happened 3 times in the TL, when i have never had it happen once in my life. anyone know of any issues like this with the TL-S'?
also....anyone have any suggestions on how to fix the problem if there is one. bigger tires i know might help out the issue...from the factory 215/50's to maybe a 215/60? i will be purchasing new rims come spring time......and aftermarket is not out of the question. i just wasn't sure if alot of rims on the market would be any stronger than the factory 17's?
well....if anyone has any helpful information i would appreciate it. thanks!

215/60/17 would be a stupid idea since it would screw up the aspect ratio.
The problem is your driving, to be frank. Not the wheel or the low profile tires. I have 225/50/ZR16 in the summer and I've never bent a rim. The only time I've ever damaged a rim to the point of danger was when I saw a curb at the last minute in the snow, and just barely ran over it with the side of the left front tire, cracking about 5 inches off the rim lip.
If you do maintain correct tire pressure (31-35 PSI, depending...I usually set mine at 32 in the winter and 34.5 front/36.0 rear in the summer), I don't see how you can possible be bending so many rims. Honda alloy wheels are among the strongest in the business, and I believe your particular wheels are made by Enkei.

My stock wheels have been fine. I have bent a few 19's on big potholes, but in the winter, I switch to my stockers, and here in NYC, I haven't had any problems with the stock rims even with my aftermarket suspension.
