What is everyone in here running?
I know we have a good variety of people in here, from the car audio noobs to the professionals, and the guys in between like me. I am curious to what everyone's setup is and their opinion of it.
Car:
Head Unit:
Mid / High Amp:
Low end amp:
Front Stage:
Rear Stage:
Subwoofer:
Anyhow, here is mine.
Car: Integra GS Sedan
Head Unit: Pioneer DEH-P770MP
Mid / High Amp: Rockford Fosgate 600.4
Low end amp:
Front Stage: Rockford Fosgate FanaticX
Rear Stage:
Subwoofer: 12" IDQ
This is a pretty simple setup. I am in the process of upgrading everything, and have already started with the head-unit. I am looking to replace the 4 channel amp that is powering the front stage and the sub with 2 individual amps. Then I am also looking to replace the 12" IDQ with a 10" woofer to save some space in my trunk. Currently the IDQ is in a 1.3 cubic ft vent box. I am looking for a .5 cubic ft sealed box now :happysad: Finally I am going to replace the front stage with something nicer, and finally power the 6.5" Infinity rear fills.

Head Unit: Pioneer DEH-8500MP
Mid / High Amp: Rockford Fostgate 500X
Low End Amp: Rockford Fostgate 500X
Front Stage: Alpine Type-R Component
Rear Stage: Alpine Type-R Coaxial
Subwoofer: (2) 10" Audiobahn Subwoofers in Audiobahn Bandpass Box
Since a friend introduced to me the Alpine Type R's, I've been hooked. Sure you can buy better, but I am happy with these. I considered getting components for the rears as well.
I always itched to replace the subs, but never really got down to it. I want a smaller box.

Head Unit: Pioneer DEH-770MP
Mid / High Amp: Elemental Designs nine.2
Low end amp: Rockford Fosgate P2002
Front Stage: Infinity Kappa 63.5I
Rear Stage: Infinity Kappa 693.5I
Subwoofer: Elemental Design 13Kv.2
Unfortunately after I had installed my subwoofer two weekends ago, if I hook up my front infinities I get horrible alternator whine. I have tried multiple new grounds for the Rockford amp, but nothing seems to help. Right now I am just running my back speakers and these boxes that I made for some 6x9 Pioneers that sit on my backseat floor as well as my sub.

Regarding the front speakers and the alternator sound, have you tried taking the front speakers out and hooking them up? Maybe they or the their wires is grounding out somewhere. Have you tried hooking another set of speakers up to the front channel of the amp? Once again, it looks to be one of those trial and error things.
