Default 6.5" Shallow Midbass Speakers?

Has anyone found a good 6.5" midbass speaker that is shallow mount ( < 2" ), possibly neodymium magnet? Kicker makes a shallow midbass, maybe someone has had good luck with them?

The application is for a del sol - i'm not crazy about losing my behind seat storage for subs, and i don't need tons of bass, just some reinforcement.

Thanks!

I put a set of Kicker ssmb6's in my wife's del sol. Give them proper power and put some dynamat on the bare metal behind them and they'll sound good. Just expect the deep bass of a real sub.

the infinity 6001si is an awesome shallow mount speaker but if kyou wan to get the max mid bass out of it you need to seal up the door with dynamat. then you will get max midbass it will be a world of differance

I have the 6002si's as well...did you seal the entire door or just behind the speaker? I have been wanting to sound deaden the door for a while and if it makes a huge difference with those speakers then I'll do it sooner rather than later...you'd say its definitely worth the time and money?

what do you guys think? I know it would be beneficial if I had components in the frontdoors, but would a full-door dampening significantly improve the sound with those speakers (the shallow infinitys)? by the way, my system has no sub(s) if that makes a difference.

infinity 6000si's for sure. i just installed them in my 97 accord. EXCELLENT. didn't even have to cut off the back of the stock speaker basket to fit the new magnets. i highly reccomend them. crutchfield has them for clearance right now.

If the "bright" sound of infinity speakers is not to your liking, or you just want another option, Blaupunkt's Overdrive series is designed for low profile, the ODx652 is only 1.48" deep! Just go to your car audio store and give them a listen vs. the Infinity Reference 6002si.

Peace.
